SAKKARA PONGAL –(SWEET PONGAL) home made recipe.

 

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups of Rice; 1 cup moong Dhal; 2 ½ cups of Brown Sugar; ¾ Cups Ghee; ¼ Cup Cashewnuts halved; 3-4 Tbspns or to your desire Rasins; 2 tspns Elaka Pwd. Water – 4 cups.

Method:

Put the Rice, Dhal, Brown Sugar, 1 tbspn. unsalted Butter along with the 4 cups of Water in a cooker & cook as for Pongal for 10 mins on low heat. Heat Ghee fry the Cashewnuts & Raisins & add to the Rice Mixture, sprinkle the Elaka Pwd, stir & serve.
