Indian Microwave cooking

 Here are some recipes which turn out equally tasty though cooked in a microwave.

Note: these recipes are given keeping in mind a 800 watts microwave. Adjust them according to your microwave capacity.

Basic Recipes:

Rice 

In a microwave rice can be cooked quiet well if right proportion of water is added. For 1 cup of rice add 2 1/4 cups water and for softer rice add 2 1/2 cups water and cook on high for 16-17 minutes and let it stand for 5 minutes.

Dal

For 1 cup of dal 2 cups of water should be added and cook for 20 minutes on high. Check in between once and add little more water if necessary.

Potato

Pierce a medium sized potato with a fork and place it on the microwave glass and cook for3-4 minutes.
